Since 2015
Publishing project (under the imprint Partial Press, a collaboration with Carley Gomez)
Literature Emitting Diodes presents new works of poetry and prose under 500 words on a scrolling LED display.
In the first iteration of Literature Emitting Diodes (LED), each month a new piece of writing was presented in different Chicago storefront. These works were also published online. After a year, the first twelve pieces were published in a printed anthology by Partial Press.

Subsequently, LED ran as a writing competition through the Columbia Daily Tribune in Columbia, Missouri.

Next, LED partnered with theretherenow. and published pieces by invitation rather than competition.

Finally, LED evolved into a partnership between Partial Press and the University of Missouri English Department and School of Visual Studies, George Caleb Bingham Gallery, and the Riso Room. It runs as an undergraduate writing competition whose winner’s work is displayed on the LED display and printed as a Risograph broadside. The winner and runners celebrate with a reading at the Visual Art and Design Showcase. (This iteration of LED has continued without Partial Press since 2020.)
