Ikea (the Pattern Repeats) re-inscribes the hidden labor of the furniture manufacturers, which is obfuscated by the seamless, glossy surface and the idea that the customer builds the furniture. The patterns reference the visual cultures of the manufacturing countries. Polish and Chinese aesthetics disrupt the Swedish minimalism.
