Lights Festival offers a look at the absurd spectacle of today’s holiday traditions. The photographs document Chicago’s Magnificent Mile parade with a focus on the participants, the spectators, and the setting in an upscale retail brandscape. The text mimics a book of Christmas carols, with lyrics and musical notation. Only, these familiar verses have been replaced by corporate mission statements that correspond to the storefronts in the photos over which the text appears.
